Carrie Frances Fisher(Oc tober 21, 1956 – December 27, 2016) was an American actress, screenwriter, author, producer, and speaker. She was known for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars films. Fisher was also known for her semi-autobiographical novels, including Postcards from the Edge, and the screenplay for the film of the same name, as well as her autobiographical one-woman play, and its nonfiction book, Wishful Drinking, based on the show. Her other film roles included Shampoo (1975), The Blues Brothers (1980), Hannah and Her Sisters (1986), The 'Burbs (1989), and When Harry Met Sally... (1989).

Carrie Fisher was born in Los Angeles, California. Her mother is actress Debbie Reynolds birth name Mary Frances Reynolds. Her father was singer Eddie Fisher birth name Edwin Jack Fisher (1928 - 2010). Her brother was Todd Emmanual Fisher.

Carrie attended Beverly Hills High School in 1972 as a sophomore but did not graduate. Carrie was in the choir. She is on page 127 in the BH High School yearbook.

Carrie had a relationship with Bryan William Lourd. Together they had a daughter Billie Catherine Lourd. "Billie Catherine Lourd" is the name on Billie's birth certificate. It's not "Billie Fisher Lourd." That is a false rumor. Carrie married Paul Simon.

Carrie passed away at the age of 60 after suffering a heart attack 15 minutes before landing at LAX, Los Angeles airport in California.

The making of white supremacist Richard Spencer, National Policy Institute - Mary Cummins

Richard Spencer, Richard  Bertrand Spencer, White Supremacist, White National, National Policy Institute,
UPDATE: 08/12/2017 Richard Spencer was at the Charlottesville, Virginia white supremacist rally last night. He spoke while the people held Tiki torches. The protesters were changing "Jews will not replace us." One, Jews make up only 2% of the US population. They won't be replacing 98% of the people. Two, Richard Spencer is part Jewish. Three, we have religious freedom in this country. How is Richard Spencer still a thing? This is racism, bigotry and hatred.

12/26/16 I just did Richard Spencer's family tree. He is part Ashkenazi Jewish. Relative is Eckstein. I posted his family tree four generations below the article.

__________________

Before Richard Spencer saluted president elect Donald Trump on November 19, 2016 in a Washington D.C. white supremist seminar no one had really heard of him outside of a small dark corner of the internet. Since then Spencer has shot to infamy as the leader of hate group National Policy Institute. He's now banned from 26 countries and even has a Wiki page. One can't help but wonder how these white supremacists come into being.

Richard Bertrand Spencer was born May 11, 1978. His mother Sherry Jean Dickenhorst was born Sept 23 1948 in San Diego, California. She attended Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana where she met her future husband. Her father was Dr Richard Walter Dickenhorst. Her mother was Emma Jean Clerget.

Richard's father is Dr William Bertrand Spencer better known as Rand Spencer. Rand was born Sept 4, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. Rand's father was wealthy oil man Captain Ross Bertrand Spencer. His mother was Jane Proctor. Here is her online obituary.  There are a lot of military men in this family.

Richard's sister is Ashley R Spencer Leake born 1973. She married Sam Skillern Leake. They have two children William and Charles.

Richard went to an elite Texas high school St Marks class of 1997. He double majored in Music and English at the University of Virginia. He completed the humanities Master's program at the University of Chicago. He began a PhD program at Duke University in European Intellectual History in 2005 but didn't complete it. Richard married Nina Kouprianov but they separated last October. She is a Russian American.

Richard currently lives with his mother and father at 98 Elk Highlands Dr, Whitefish, Montana. People have stated that it's an old mansion but it's just a big house built in the traditional style in 2006. It's 6 beds, 7 baths, 6,630 sqft on a large lot at the end of a cul-de-sac. Richard uses this address and his mother's rental property  at 22 Lupfer, Whitefish, Montana as the address for his non-profit corporation National Policy Institute. Yes, a hate group has a non-profit status. As Richard supported, campaigned for Donald Trump I believe he should lose his non-profit status. Non-profits can't endorse candidates.

The name Spencer is English. The name Dickenhorst is also English. Everyone in his family is very white. They have married spouses that are also very white. The men almost look identical in each generation. The family has no real relatives of different origins. I could understand how someone growing up in a family like this might have an issue with a different ethnicity or darker skin.

Richard Spencer is an intelligent individual who comes from a wealthy family. Based on the obituaries of his grandparents I bet they left him a nice trust fund. He also has worked at alt right "conservative" organizations as an editor, leader. Some of those organizations are backed by wealthy white conservative people.

Richard and his friends, family have stated that Richard wasn't always a white nationalist. This article from Mother Jones is a great in depth look at the real Richard Spencer.  I don't believe his family is white nationalists though maybe behind closed doors they might whisper negative things about blacks, Mexicans, Jews... I believe Richard gravitated toward white nationalism as he progressed in his field of "conservative" ideals. As the article noted Richard dated at least two Asian women. His wife is Russian and a little darker. It's always amazing to me that male racists don't have a problem dating women of color.

Of course Richard's ideal of only having white Europeans in the US is ridiculous. We aren't native to this land. It's wasn't our land originally. Why should only white Europeans be allowed to exist here? If one wanted to be "pure," wouldn't it make sense to go back to where we came from, our motherland?

This ideal is another reason that I think Richard is faking some of his white nationalism. In the article linked above he states you sometimes "have to fake it til you make it." I think he was encountering people who were white nationalists. He saw they were interested in white nationalism and realized he could tap into that as a form of income and support. Now he's just going with his infamy.

I also think Richard is a little mentally ill. He was going to organize a rally to combat Jews in Whitefish, Montana who are speaking out about his mother Sherry allowing her son to have his hate group in her home and rental property. He believes the Jews are harming Sherry's vacation rental business. Sherry said she's thinking of selling the property because of all the bad press caused by her son being a public white nationalist. I think she should sell the property. She should also kick Richard out of the house. He's 38 years old and still living at home. That's another reason I think he probably has a mental issue. What sane person would want to live with their parents at that age? The main guy leading the men's rights movement is also 40 and lives in his mom's basement. Something is obviously a tad off with these people.

Richard Spencer's family tree. He is part Ashkenai Jewish. Family members are Eckstein. Otherwise in four generations his relatives come from Germany, England and France. I may go back father later. Here is his tree.

Kellyanne's paternal grandparents are John Paalzow Fitzpatrick 1910- 1973 and Claire Muriel Kainath 1908 - 1995. The paternal grandfather divorced Claire, remarried and had more children.

I did the family trees of all major presidential candidates to discover their true heritage and to see if they were being honest or not. Ted Cruz, Ben Cartsens were not honest. Trump just never mentioned the negatives of his family. I've never done a consultant of a President's tree because, why? Based on things Kellyanne Fitzpatrick Conway said I thought I needed to investigate. Plus, she is now considered the "Trump Whisperer." Based on her history, experience, what she did, she is a major reason why Trump won. She found a way to get him to stop acting so crazy for the last few weeks of the campaign. Glad I did research her because there are some discrepancies. The biggest one is that Kellyanne said she comes from a "strong family of only women living together in a home." That is not true.

Kellyanne said she lived with her mother, aunts and grandmother ONLY. That's not true. She also lived with them and her grandfather James DiNatale, Jimmy the Brute the alleged mob associate per at least 200 newspapers citations. She said her mother barely made any money working in a casino. She doesn't mention that her mob associate grandpa used his "illegal" profits to invest in legitimate businesses. James DiNatale, aka "Jimmy the Brute" owned many businesses, buildings. He owned an auto race track, a few bars, homes... Her grandpa paid for the college education of all his children and most likely hers as well.

Few days ago Kellyanne said women with kids should not work. They should stay with their kids at home. Yet, Kellyanne with four kids has a major job while her husband is an attorney. She then went on to say she takes care of her own kids. This is not true. Her mother Diane moved in with her family to take care of her kids. I don't have a problem with this as my grandma took care of me and my sis. I loved it. I just have an issue with Kellyanne saying other mothers with children should not work and should only take care of the kids.

The DiNatale family paid for billboards in New Jersey for Trump.

Donald Trump dumbest President ever also lied about graduating top of class at Wharton

Donald Trump, Donald J Trump, Donald John Trump, dumb, stupid, idiot, poor grades, wharton, dean's list, top of his class, 1968, president, usa, cum laude, good grades, God help us all!
UPDATE: 10/2017 Trump's dead teacher told everyone that Trump was the dumbest student he ever had. https://www.studyinternational.com/news/trump-student-wharton/

ORIGINAL: The NY Times in January 1973 said “Donald, who was graduated first in his class at the Wharton School of Finance of the University of Pennsylvania, joined his father five years ago.” This lie was repeated by other news media and Trump never corrected it. The truth about Donald Trump's academic career is very different.

Donald Trump did not have good enough grades to get into Wharton School of Business which was then called "Wharton School of Finance and Commerce." "He spent two ordinary years at Fordham University in New York before he transferred to Wharton, only admitted because, as biographer Gwenda Blair wrote in 2001, he got a special favor from a “friendly” admissions officer who had known Trump’s older brother Freddy. Blair reported that Trump’s grades at Fordham were”respectable.”"

What type of grades did Trump get at Wharton? Trump told CNN in 2004, “I went to the Wharton School of Finance, I got very good marks.” Turns out that isn't true either. The school posts a printed list of all the top students. This is how Wharton differentiates the honors. Summa Cum Laude 3.80 – 4.00 GPA Magna Cum Laude 3.60 – 3.79 GPA Cum Laude 3.40 – 3.59 GPA. Donald Trump is nowhere in the list.

Donald Trump, Donald J Trump, Donald John Trump, dumb, stupid, idiot, poor grades, wharton, dean's list, top of his class, 1968, president, usa, cum laude, good grades, God help us all!

Still, what type of grades did Trump get? In 1968 you only needed a 3.0 GPA to be on the Dean's List. The school posts the list of Dean's List students in the newspaper. Trump's name was again nowhere to be found. That means that Donald Trump didn't even have a B average which means he had at most a C average. The Donald won't release his school records so we may never know unless Putin hacks into Wharton's records.

So far only one student in the class of 1968 even remembers Trump at school. Most said they'd never seen him on campus. They went on to state that he went back to New York on the weekends. He wasn't in any clubs, leadership roles, sports... His class photo isn't even in the Yearbook. Most believe that his father's influence caused Wharton to just let him pass and graduate. He received what is called a "Gentlemen's Degree."

Just for clarification Donald Trump only received an undergraduate degree in economics from Pennsylvania University the Wharton School of finance and commerce. He did not get a Master's or a PhD.

I was just at Newspapers.com Donald Trump lies and says he graduated from Wharton at 20. He was 22. I've decided to start adding clips in the site with corrections.

$20,000,000 "Wreaths Across America" scam made by for-profit Worcester Wreath Co, Morrill Worcester, Karen Worcester

Wreaths Across America, scam, fraud, charity, Worcester Wreath Co, Morrill Worcester, Karen Worcester, Maine, wreaths, sell, donate, 20-8362270, remember, honor, teach, non profit, for profit, business,
UPDATE: 12/19/16: I got a call today from Memorial Day Flowers Foundation. I decided to see if Memorial Day Flowers is like Wreaths Across America. They haven't filed any 990's so I can't tell. As he owns a flower business I assume his foundation only buys his flowers. I do see that they also promote flowers for kids. He offers free flower "education" to kids so they can learn to appreciate i.e. desire and buy them. The guy made a video which he posted on YouTube. Before I even got to the video I thought this sounds like someone using free "education" to market, sell his product just like Wreaths Across America. Sure enough, it is. He flat out even states this in his video in the caption! Here's the frame. I didn't add that caption. He did. "Marketing Disguised as Education." This is something that you, wink wink, whisper behind closed doors. It's not something you post on the public internet connected to your name and business name. Now all the teachers, parents, public will know that the true goal is not education but free marketing for his flower selling business. How do these people live with themselves to want to use kids, schools just to market their products? Now he can post videos of him "educating" children about floral care so he can get good press.

12/18/16 Wreaths Across America has been reported for diversion of assets to the IRS.

________________________

This is the first time I've heard about "Wreaths Across America" day where a non-profit places Christmas wreaths on the graves of veterans with the help of free volunteers. Sounds like a nice sentiment even though we already have Veterans Day, Memorial day where we place things on Veterans graves. My relatives are veterans. My grandfather died in WWII.

I did some research and this appears to be a money making business for Worcester Wreath Co founded by Morrill Worcester in Maine. In 2015 they took in $8,000,000 selling wreaths to their own non-profit. They charge more than what other wreath companies would charge. They now use cheap migrant labor instead of locals. They have violations for illegal clear cutting of acres of trees. What's even worse is that they get volunteer truck drivers, wreath placers to deliver and place the wreaths on the graves! When they sell the wreaths to regular people they have to pay to ship them. They also get hundreds of thousands of dollars of free publicity and media because people think they are a charity that helps Veterans at Christmas. People think Morrill Worcester and his wife Karen donate the wreaths. They don't. Donald Trump would call this "Great! Smart!" This is like selling yellow snow to dead Eskimos. I bet the cemetery is the one that has to clean up all the wreaths and trash.

"The non-profit organization Wreaths Across America was started by a for-profit company that makes and sells wreaths, and 74 percent of every dollar Wreaths Across America spent went to this same for-profit wreath making company. A for-profit family owned company that has family members on the board of Wreaths Across America."

Morrill Worcester used his political contacts to make "Wreaths Across America" day. "December 13, 2008 was unanimously voted by the US Congress as “Wreaths Across America Day." Imagine getting a politician to create a day just for your company to make millions of dollars. Here is that bill by Senator Susie Collins. I sent her an email about the scam.

https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/110/sres726/text

They say you can also buy, I mean donate and a wreath can be sent to a living person. That is not a donation as you are getting something in return. I don't think that's legal. Look at their Q&A. One question is "why spend money on dead veterans when living veterans need so much?" Watch them say why giving dead tree branches to a dead veteran is better than helping a live veteran.

They say you can even sell the wreaths on days other than WAA day. These people have no shame. They offer a reseller program. These people are ONLY about making money doing so in the name of veterans.

My grandpa and other relatives are buried at military cemeteries. I will contact them and make sure no WAA is ever placed on their graves.  This company uses dead veterans to make money.

http://www.cityofventura.net/files/file/meetings/parks_and_recreation_commission/2012/05-16-12/Agenda%20Item%208%20WAA%20Reference%20Guide.pdf

I then found quite a few articles about the scam and how it works. This is a good article.

http://www.moneytalksnews.com/should-you-donate-wreaths-across-america-lesson-charitable-giving/

Snopes says WAA is a real company that donates wreaths for veteran graves. What is wrong with Snopes lately? It's like scammers are paying them for false reviews. Wall Street Journal saw through this scam. I sent Snopes proof that the company makes millions off this WAA day created by politician friends of owner of private company. The article is still there.

From Wall Street Journal 75 to 80% of Worcester Wreath income is from Wreaths Across America. The Worcesters say that they recuse themselves when the board votes on the wreath supplier. In the meantime other wreath companies have sent bids that are $1-$2 less per wreath and they've been denied. Per the WSJ,

"Worcester now charges the charity $8.50 a wreath, which after costs leaves $1.20 in profit, according to Rob Worcester, a son of Morrill and Karen. This year, the company sold 876,000 wreaths to the charity, suggesting a profit of $1.05 million. Worcester donated 25,000 additional wreaths, a deductible loss of about $183,000."

"Federal and state regulators “examine closely the details of those sorts of deals because there’s a huge potential for essentially the charity allowing its assets to be diverted to private use,” said Mr. Owens. If the deal benefits the related company to the detriment of the charity, the charity could lose its tax-exempt status, he said."

As there were cheaper bids this does appear to be diversion.

Here is their 2013 tax return. In 2013 the non-profit gave the for-profit $4,865,805.

Their site says "When you donate to WAA your money goes to a wreath first, and we operate on the small margin remaining after purchasing and placing that wreath." This makes it very obvious that most of the money goes directly to the for-profit business Worcester Wreaths. Here is their nice graphic. This graphic is the Worcester Wreath company bragging about how much money they made in this scam.

Below is 2014. Worcester Wreaths received over $6,000,000 from their non-profit Wreaths Across America.
Wreaths Across America, scam, fraud, charity, Worcester Wreath Co, Morrill Worcester, Karen Worcester, Maine, wreaths, sell, donate, 20-8362270, remember, honor, teach, non profit, for profit, business,

Wreaths Across America made $23,000,000 from 2010 to 2015. Based on the 86.5% above going directly to Worcester Wreaths that means Morrill, Karen Worcester made $20,000,000 off this scam in six years alone!

Wreaths Across America, scam, fraud, charity, Worcester Wreath Co, Morrill Worcester, Karen Worcester, Maine, wreaths, sell, donate, 20-8362270, remember, honor, teach, non profit, for profit, business,

I would bet that in 1992 when Morrill Worcester gave the first 5,000 surplus wreaths to the cemetery that he took a huge tax deduction for the donation. Giving items or money to a government cemetery is considered a donation.

A for-profit wreath company invents "Wreaths Across America day" and starts non-profit "Wreaths Across America." The day is the third Saturday of December which landed on my birthday today. They get Veterans groups, Christmas lovers to donate money to basically buy wreaths from them which they get volunteer truck drivers to deliver and volunteers to dump them on Veterans' graves for free positive publicity, advertising.

While the business has noted the conflict with the non-profit nobody bothers to research or read that information. They only see the feel good story, veterans, Christmas. This is obviously a $20,000,000 money making scam. I think I will start "Real Estate Appraisals Across America" day. True, dead veterans don't need a real estate appraisal but they also don't need a Christmas wreath. See, it's not about the appraisal (sarcasm). It's about honoring the veteran. I will say their name as I lay an invisible .pdf copy of an appraisal on their grave. It will teach people to honor veterans. Remember, honor, teach. Children will learn a great lesson. Please, PayPal me a donation today so you too can honor a dead Veteran with a lovely, festive Christmas appraisal, also good for Valentine's day, Cinco de Mayo and National Squirrel day.

Worcester Wreath has an interesting history. They got stuck with extra inventory which they funneled through Wreaths Across America. L.L. Bean stated they had “very large” environmental fines that had been assessed to Worcester. They also had some ethical issues. In 2008 90% of Worcest Wreath business $6.7 million came from L.L. Bean.

http://bangordailynews.com/2012/02/23/news/down-east/worcester-wreath-awarded-nearly-1m-in-lawsuit-against-l-l-bean/

In 2013 Worcester said 30% of its income was from Wreaths Across America.

EcoHealth reports that they not only illegally clear cut trees using an "agriculture" loophole but they had migrant housing placed on some of the land to attract poor migrant farmers instead of using US workers. http://ecohearth.com/eco-blogs/leave-the-trail-behind/1142-is-your-holiday-wreath-ecologically-sound

"Unfortunately, Worcester Wreath's environmental track record is not as laudable as their service to veterans. In an attempt to consolidate their control over the wreath-making industry, Worcester has clear-cut thousands of acres of forest in eastern Maine to make way for “brush agriculture.” Because they claimed that growing fir trees for wreaths is agriculture, they were able to sidestep most limitations on the size of clear-cuts. Fortunately, they miscalculated the size of the loophole they hid behind and have been slammed with fines of almost $200,000 by the Maine Forest Service—the largest fines ever levied for forestry violations within the state. Part of the fine was for improperly placing migrant labor housing. Apparently, part of the company's plan is to hire low-wage migrant workers rather than local residents, who have been doing the work for generations."

"The Worcester companies have incurred $95,000 in fines for violations of Maine tree harvesting regulations. Worcester Peat Co. Inc. is in the peat harvesting business. According to the Maine secretary of state, the shareholders for that company are Morrill Worcester, his wife, Karen, and (daughter) Pamela Slaven, all of Columbia Falls. Morrill Worcester is named as the manager of Worcester Holdings, LLC. It is described as a property land holdings company in the 2008 annual report of the Maine secretary of state."

http://www.redorbit.com/news/science/1509329/state_fines_worcester_wreath_affiliates/

"The consent order also resolves the following violations of laws administered by the DEP:

. Failing to obtain permits for construction of a warehouse and worker housing.

. Failing to properly construct and maintain ponds and other structures at the Denny Heath peat mining site.

. Discharging of peat and other sediment into McCoy Brook and the Narraguagus River.

. Disturbing a stream channel, discharging soil into a stream, improperly replacing culverts with rocks and placing fill material in a wetland.

. Failing to renew air emissions license before its expiration.

. Use of wood bottom ash in the construction of a road without a license."

Worcester Wreaths is now Worcester Resources.

12/14/2016 There is now a Facebook page set up for Francisco.

https://www.facebook.com/justiceforfranciscoserna/?pnref=story

What happened after the murder was even worse! Police must withhold the name of the victim if the victim dies until after they tell the family the victim died.

"It is difficult to accept that our dad's life ended so brutally, abruptly and with such excessive violence. We feel our dad was stolen from us at a time when our family should be celebrating the holidays, birthdays and making happy family memories," Imperial read.

"Instead, our dad was murdered by BPD...

"Our dad was treated like a criminal, and we feel he was left to die alone, without his family by his side. Our family was questioned and restricted from comforting our mother for about 14 hours, while BPD completed their investigation.

"Family who asked to see their mother were told by BPD that if they crossed the police line they would be arrested."

According to family members, details were withheld from the family by investigators. They said they learned, not from the police, but from social media and the morning news that their father had died.

The family is asking for a civil rights investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice. They also called upon the state attorney general to launch an independent investigation."

It appears Francisco was carrying a crucifix. He thought he may be near death (how prophetic) so he carried a crucifix with him. I come from a Mexican family. Religion is very important. My Nana had a couple of these religious beliefs about keeping a rosary on her so I can understand him carrying a crucifix when in fear or doubt. That might have been mistaken as a gun.

He was shot as he continued to come toward the officer when the officer told him to stop. He was confused with dementia. Sometimes when they get dementia they revert back to their first language which for Francisco was Spanish. The officer allegedly shot him nine times. Police said they shot him seven times. I went through the police academy. We are told to shoot if they do not obey an important command. Still, they could have shot him once to drop him. The officer must have been frightened and over reacted unloading his gun into the 73 year old man killing him. Such a horrible shame. I hope the family sues the police. They need better training when it comes to disabled people, people with dementia, mentally challenged people...

Bakersfield police shot and killed 73 year old Francisco Serna who had dementia in a case of mistaken identity. Serna was killed across the street from his home at 7913 Silver Birch Avenue, Bakersfield, California.

Serna had been taking late night walks when he couldn't sleep. He was walking late at night when a neighbor reported a man with a gun. Police arrived and told Serna to take his hands out of his pockets and don't move. Instead Serna walked toward them confused. Police shot him as he did not obey their commands.

Here is video from his son Roy talking about the shooting.

Someone made a findagrave for the wife who is alive. This happens when people pre-enscribe tombstones. People think they are dead when they are not. They just removed it. Here's a photo of it. Francisco will most likely be buried in Wasco Memorial Park, Wasco, Kern County, California.

The problem with fake news, news sites and how to solve it - Mary Cummins

fake news, truth in advertising act, sponsored, advertisement, mary cummins, real estate (I wish I knew who made this graphic because it's great)

Fake news sites were a real problem in the recent election. They were sending out thousands of fake stories about the candidates. I believe some of the candidates and their supporters might have been behind some of the fake news articles, websites, radio shows. The others were making and sending out fake news about the candidates in order to make money off web traffic ads.

Before the election most of the fake stories were made and shared with the goal of making money off traffic. They had catchy click bait titles like "You WON'T believe what Miley Cyrus did now!" "Home remedy removes wrinkles better than any surgeon," "Kim to divorce Kanye due to secret baby mama," "Woman gives birth to ELEVEN babies!"...

People would click on those articles and the story would be totally false and made up or not live up to the hype of the click bait title. On that same web page would be a ton of ads and other click bait titles. They generally use photoshopped images or unrelated photos to tell the story to make it appear believable. Sometimes you'd have to click through a few pages to read the entire article. The purpose is so they can show you more ads so they can make more money. Some of these sites have disclaimers saying they don't guarantee that it's truthful. Some say it's for entertainment purposes only. Some admit they are parody and satire and some don't.

An article which is an ad to sell a product must be listed as "advertisement," "sponsored" or have a "$" sign like the pic above per the Truth in Advertising Act. Yahoo, Facebook do this with paid for promoted stories in their "news" feed. Here's one from Facebook. This is a paid ad and is noted as "sponsored." Notice the click bait title. If you go there you have to read the story one page at a time. There are now 31 "facts" with 31 pages. There are ads all over the page. They say "advertisement."

These fake news sites aren't always ads. Sometimes they pretend to be news and are shared by individuals on social media. Google news feed only includes articles by mainstream news websites like LA Times, Washington Post, NY Times, Chicago Times... They don't include fake news sites in the news feed.  Now if you search Google for everything, you will see ads in the results. They will be at the top of the search engine results and have an "Ad" image on it like this.

Google already has filters for many things including "legitimate" news and "pornography." There is "safe search" which will filter out pornography in images, websites, "When SafeSearch is on, it helps block explicit images, videos, and websites from Google Search results." Why not add safe search for the entire Internet search? Google is a private company. If they want to offer a "safe search" to their customers, that does not infringe on freedom of speech as the customer is choosing what they want to see.

Google does have a news filter which you can control. Sign into your Google account and click "Preferences" top right. https://news.google.com/ I got rid of sports news. You can filter out blogs and press releases. You can go in there and adjust sources. I suggest adding the fake news websites and click "never." Here is a list of fake news websites. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fake_news_websites

Unfortunately this only works on Google news and not on Facebook which is the biggest problem.

If you read a printed magazine or newspaper, you will see the word "advertisement" or "sponsored" if someone paid for the article to be included in the magazine. The article generally supports a product, service or person. The purpose is to differentiate it from an editorial which the magazine chooses to write about a certain subject. Even in those situations some advertisers would ask for an editorial in exchange for advertising somewhere else in the magazine.

If you search for say "Hillary Clinton child sex pizza," you will see those fake articles about the fake child sex club at a pizza joint. You won't know for sure instantly that it's a fake news site though if you had common sense you'd realize it. Here's one click bait title "FILTHY Sex Secret About Hillary Clinton And Anthony Weiner Just Leaked by FBI Agent!" If you go to the site, they pretend to be a news site US Herald. Here is their about page http://usherald.com/about/ If you go to their disclaimer, they state they are posting items "as is" and make no promises of being "accurate." http://usherald.com/terms/ If you look through the site, they are basically a fake news site that takes a few facts, photos from here and there to make up a new twisted story to fit their "conservative" agenda. They are anti-Hillary, anti-Obama, anti-Muslim... basically Trump supporters.

I personally believe some of the candidates especially Trump took advantage of these sites, promoted them and even fed them false stories to send around. When I wrote a true article about Ted Cruz's dad the Enquirer and another Trump supporter with a "fake news" site used my data to try to say Rafael Cruz was involved in the assassination of Kennedy. They fed me fake information, begged me to confirm that was a photo of Rafael Cruz with Lee Harvey Oswald. I said no. They offered me traffic, notoriety... I still said no. I'm not going to lie about someone.

My practical solution to the problem is for browsers, search engines, websites like Yahoo, Google, Facebook, Twitter ... to add a filter to list credible news sources such as LA Times, Washington Post...as "News" or "Safe News" with a tiny image next to the link. Then people can be assured it won't be fake news. Reputable news sites do their best to make sure what they report is truthful. Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter already have filters which state which posts are sponsored ads. They can easily add another filter for "real news."

Let me preface this next sentence. I don't support McAfee and I hate their product. I just want to note that their security system checks links before you click on them. If the link is safe, you see this image. If it's not, you see a red warning and an "unknown" warning. One thing about the fake news sites is that they are generally unsafe sites as well. You sometimes get trapped in many windows full of ads.

Besides marking "real news" sites I think they should also add a filter for known "fake news," satire and parody sites. We, Gmail filter our email to get rid of spam, virus. Anti-viral software also filter out virus websites. We need the same for fake news websites. People should have an option to report fake news. They just need to make sure people don't abuse the report feature to report honest sites. Some older people, people who can't read certain languages well, people who aren't too smart can't tell the difference between real and fake news. Some don't even read the article and just share it based on the title and a photo. Some know it's fake news but they want to spread it around because it helps their political candidate.

Twitter filter for "promoted" ads. They can just modify the filters using the top image as a guide. Mark articles from legitimate credible news sites as "News"

For anyone who wants to make some money and knows how to code, make an app that has filters and sell it. Or make some filters and sell it to Facebook, Google, Yahoo and Twitter.

My legal solution to the problem of fake news site is the Truth in Advertising Act. All ads must be noted as ads if they are promoting a product, service, candidate... The product that is being sold here is the article which has ads all over it. The websites are making money off the articles. Some sites say they are for "entertainment" purposes only. Then they are selling the entertainment of the article. For this reason they must be truthful about what they are selling.

In the last few hours after Hillary Clinton stated that fake news articles were used against her the fake news sites are begging Trump to not allow the government to infringe on their freedom of speech and "conservative" values. Commercial speech is also protected as freedom of speech but they still must be truthful. POM Juice got popped by the FTC for false advertising many times.

Recently a bill passed in regard to PhotoShop'd images used in advertising. In the ads they are directly selling the product in the ad generally a wrinkle remover or hair restorer.

"The Truth In Advertising Act of 2016 (TIAA) is a bi-partisan bill introduced in 2016 in the U.S. Congress. It asks the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to develop what's called a "regulatory framework" for ads that significantly change the people in them through image-altering techniques like "photoshop.""

With fake news they are selling the article and all the products in the link that you click. They use cookies to see what shopping you've done, where you've been on the internet, city/state...to give you ads suited to your online activity. They lure you in with the fake news, click bait story. That is false advertising in my book. Sue a couple of the big wealthy offenders to set an example.

Below is information about the Truth in Advertising Act.

https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/media-resources/truth-advertising

"When consumers see or hear an advertisement, whether it’s on the Internet, radio or television, or anywhere else, federal law says that ad must be truthful, not misleading, and, when appropriate, backed by scientific evidence. The Federal Trade Commission enforces these truth-in-advertising laws, and it applies the same standards no matter where an ad appears – in newspapers and magazines, online, in the mail, or on billboards or buses. The FTC looks especially closely at advertising claims that can affect consumers’ health or their pocketbooks – claims about food, over-the-counter drugs, dietary supplements, alcohol, and tobacco and on conduct related to high-tech products and the Internet. The FTC also monitors and writes reports about ad industry practices regarding the marketing of alcohol and tobacco.

When the FTC finds a case of fraud perpetrated on consumers, the agency files actions in federal district court for immediate and permanent orders to stop scams; prevent fraudsters from perpetrating scams in the future; freeze their assets; and get compensation for victims."
